Outside my window...dark, windy and rain for today…
I am thinking...it is time to start cleaning out my pantry…
I am thankful for... my family, good health, God’s Love…
I am wearing...black t-top, blue jeans and bare foot…
I am remembering...how wonderful it was to talk to all of my family this weekend several times…
I am going... to start the laundry and get the beds changed…
I am currently reading... a book sent from our daughter and son-in-law called: Weird Arizona…
I am hoping... to get to the bottom of my magazine pile by week's end
On my mind... waiting to hear how our youngest granddaughter is with her fever…
Noticing that... time is going so fast and hoping I didn’t forget something that was important to do…
Pondering these words... Enjoy each and every day…

From the kitchen... having a cup of coffee…thinking of making white chili for dinner…perfect for a rainy day…
Around the house... I am getting the fabrics together for another quilt I want to make…hoping I have all that is needed…

FOR TODAY... from Karlene's Daybook

Outside my window... the clouds are here and the fog has lifted...hope we get to have some sunshine today...

I am thinking...about my MRI results, I didn't realize that my docotrs office was closed today.

I am thankful for... for every Blessing that I and others have received from God today and every day...and so much more.

I am wearing... jeans with a jogging top and socks...with today being wash day, I need to get caught, then I will look better dressed!

I am remembering... family members that have passed on...I see there photos in hopes of making a record for our family heritage...I have also adde some stories to some of them that I remember...

I am going...load a quilt top to my quilting machine today and work on it as I have time...just enjoy the process...

I am currently reading... Debbie Macomber " Angels at Christmas"... still reading this one...

I am hoping... for my family to enjoy the memories that we share together and to have a lot more...

On my mind...is what to get my husband for his birthday! He is a hard one to buy for when he always says he needs nothing...

Noticing that...I need to go thru my recipes and get them on my computer and print out in a book for everyone in our family...

Pondering these words...God's Will...



From the kitchen... I am roasting a chicken in the oven with seasonings all over it...I love how the kitchen smells when something is in the oven...

Around the house...Seeing the snow melting outside, pool is filled with snow, and its time for a new mailbox...

I was shopping today for new quilting fabrics, I came across these and the thread that I already had at home...My mind started to rush with ideas of how to use what I have and add to it to make a quilt... Well like I said that was my plan, but after I went into the next row, it became a different story all together...Needless to say I went a little crazy with the choices and left the quilt shop very satisfied in more ways than one...Oh the feel of fabric and the gadgets that are out new...Yes I did acquire a few new ones...What a great day and look forward to picking out the quilt patterns...

In 1723, the Delaware Indians settled Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania as a campsite halfway between the Allegheny and the Susquehanna Rivers. The town is 90 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, at the intersection of Route 36 and Route 119. The Delawares considered groundhogs honorable ancestors. According to the original creation beliefs of the Delaware Indians, their forebears began life as animals in "Mother Earth" and emerged centuries later to hunt and live as men.The name Punxsutawney comes from the Indian name for the location"ponksad-uteney" which means "the town of the sandflies."The name woodchuck comes from the Indian legend of "Wojak,the groundhog" considered by them to be their ancestral grandfather.When German settlers arrived in the 1700s, they brought a tradition known as Candlemas Day, which has an early origin in the pagan celebration of Imbolc. It came at the mid-point between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox. Superstition held that if the weather was fair, the second half of Winter would be stormy and cold. For the early Christians in Europe, it was the custom on Candlemas Day for clergy to bless candles and distribute them to the people in the dark of Winter. A lighted candle was placed in each window of the home. The day's weather continued to be important. If the sun came out February 2, halfway between Winter and Spring, it meant six more weeks of wintry weather.The earliest American reference to Groundhog Day can be found at the Pennsylvania Dutch Folklore Center at Franklin and Marshall College:February 4, 1841 - from Morgantown, Berks County (Pennsylvania) storekeeper James Morris' diary..."Last Tuesday, the 2nd, was Candlemas day, the day on which, according to the Germans, the Groundhog peeps out of his winter quarters and if he sees his shadow he pops back for another six weeks nap, but if the day be cloudy he remains out, as the weather is to be moderate."

FOR TODAY... from Karlene's Daybook

Outside my window... very cold and the snow is about a foot...

I am thinking... that this is a time in which we should be planning our future plants and design for our gardens...

I am thankful for... my family that is growing and enjoying a new adventure each day...

I am wearing... ski pants because they are thick and warm along with a red top and socks...

I am remembering... I am also enjoying this Daybook as I did it awhile back and lost track of doing it...Thank You for having this still today!

I am going... for test tomorrow and MRI in hopes of having a good report...

I am currently reading... Debbie Macomber " Angels at Christmas"...

I am hoping... the days to Bless everyone with God's Will...

On my mind... Is spending time on projects to get done and to also find the right four legged companion...

Noticing that... I want to make a collage of my Niko & Madi photos ( my 4 legged companions that have gone to heaven).
